"I Remember"

Doctor, author, and pastor,Edwin Louis Cole, once stated "Obedience is an act of faith; disobedience is the result of unbelief." Unfortunately, I learned the truthfulness of this statement the hard way. That is why I am writing about one of my worst memories i have experienced in my life. When I almost cut the tip of my finger off with a knife.
It happened when i was younger. I don't remember exactly how old I was, but I think I was probably in my early elementary school years. It all started when for some reason I wanted an orange and I wanted to cut it by myself. So I asked my mother if I could cut it by myself. Being the good mother that she is, she told me no because she said that I would cut my finger. I denied that statement and told her that I wouldn't. She still said no even after I thought I made a very convincing speech about how I would be extra careful that sounded good to me at that time.
Me, being the little disobedient child that I could sometimes be ignored my mother and went ahead and got out the orange and knife withour her knowing. I put the orange on a plate and got ready to cut it. Next is where I made the mistake. I didn't realize that I had put my hand too high up on the orange and that my left index finger was right in the line of cutting of the knife. I proceeded to cut through the orange until....... I cut right through almost half the width of my finger! I started screaming and ran into the living room where my mother was sitting. I was screaming "I cut my finger! I cut my finger!" At first my mother thought I was kidding because she had told me not to cut the orange by myself. She thought that I had listened to her and respected her authority. She was wrong.
After my mother realized that I wasnt kidding, she called my grandmother because she works at the Andrew County Ambulance. At this point, I was still in agonizing pain and was in complete shock that I had just cut through my finger and could have caused some serious damage. Luckily, I hadn't caused any serious damage and I was fine after putting a wet wash cloth on the wound for a while. In the end, I definitely learned a lesson...listen to your parents!

Super Bowl XLV

Go Pack Go!

That was the cheer that thousands of people were chanting in the stands in Arlington, Texas at Super Bowl XLV. They were chanting this becasue they were rooting for their favorite team. The Green Bay Packers. They were playing against the team with the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history. That team was the Pittsburgh Steelers with 6 Super wins in their franchise's history. Many fans made it to the game because these two teams have the best traveling fan bases in the NFL. This was also the most watched Super Bowl in history. At first, the game started off a little slow before the Packers scored two quick touchdowns to give them a confortable lead. Then both teams were struck with injury to some of their key starting players. The Green Bay Packers lost two of their players. One was one of their starting wide receivers, Donald Driver, who left the game with an ankle injury. The second was one of their starting defensive backs, Charles Woodson, who left the game with a broken collar bone. The Steelers lost of one players. They lost one of their starting wide receivers, Emanuel Sanders, who left with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Despite these losses, both teams competed very hard to win the game and be named Super Bowl champions. The physical Green Bay defense forced the Steeler's quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, to throw two interceptions and the Steeler's running back, Rashard Mendenhall, to fumble the football which showed to be key plays in the outcome of the game. In the end, the Green Bay Packers won the game 31-25 and were named Super Bowl champions. They were proud to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay, the place were the Vince Lombardi era originated. Overall, Super Bowl XLV was a very close and exciting game and brought the Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.
