Super Bowl XLV

Go Pack Go!

That was the cheer that thousands of people were chanting in the stands in Arlington, Texas at Super Bowl XLV. They were chanting this becasue they were rooting for their favorite team. The Green Bay Packers. They were playing against the team with the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history. That team was the Pittsburgh Steelers with 6 Super wins in their franchise's history. Many fans made it to the game because these two teams have the best traveling fan bases in the NFL. This was also the most watched Super Bowl in history. At first, the game started off a little slow before the Packers scored two quick touchdowns to give them a confortable lead. Then both teams were struck with injury to some of their key starting players. The Green Bay Packers lost two of their players. One was one of their starting wide receivers, Donald Driver, who left the game with an ankle injury. The second was one of their starting defensive backs, Charles Woodson, who left the game with a broken collar bone. The Steelers lost of one players. They lost one of their starting wide receivers, Emanuel Sanders, who left with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Despite these losses, both teams competed very hard to win the game and be named Super Bowl champions. The physical Green Bay defense forced the Steeler's quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, to throw two interceptions and the Steeler's running back, Rashard Mendenhall, to fumble the football which showed to be key plays in the outcome of the game. In the end, the Green Bay Packers won the game 31-25 and were named Super Bowl champions. They were proud to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay, the place were the Vince Lombardi era originated. Overall, Super Bowl XLV was a very close and exciting game and brought the Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.
